Every website has a job to do.
Sometimes that job is simple. Share information. Answer questions. Help people find what they need.
Other times, the right solution is something a little more interactive. Something that gives visitors another way to connect with the brand.
For Drink Lab New Orleans, that meant creating a personality quiz inspired by the city’s iconic cocktails.
But before we get to the quiz, it’s worth talking about why it made sense in the first place.
More Than a Cocktail Class
Drink Lab New Orleans isn’t just a place to learn how to make cocktails. It’s one of those experiences people tell their friends about after they get home.
Founded by former television journalist Camille Whitworth and actor Sidney Webb, Drink Lab blends New Orleans cocktail history, hands-on instruction, and plenty of laughs into classes that feel equal parts education, entertainment, and happy hour. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, planning a date night, entertaining clients, or simply looking for something different to do in the city, it somehow manages to be informative without ever taking itself too seriously.
That same spirit carries next door into Baroness on Baronne, where guests can continue the evening with expertly crafted cocktails and small plates before or after class.
Whether you’re shaking your first Sazerac or discovering why the Ramos Gin Fizz is worth the extra effort, the goal isn’t simply to make a great cocktail. It’s to leave with a story.

Drink Lab combines cocktail history, hands-on instruction, and a whole lot of fun.
A Website Should Feel Like the Brand
Drink Lab already had personality. The website just needed another way to show it.
That idea became a custom personality quiz that matches visitors with a classic New Orleans cocktail based on eight lighthearted questions.
It’s not meant to replace the experience. It’s meant to capture a little piece of it.
We’d love to tell you this required a secret algorithm locked away in an underground lab somewhere. In reality, it mostly required understanding the brand, writing questions that felt like Drink Lab, and maybe discussing cocktails a little longer than was strictly necessary.
Purely for research, of course.
Visitors answer eight quick questions before discovering which classic New Orleans cocktail matches their personality.
Why This Made Sense
One thing we’ve learned over the years is that no two websites need the same solution.
✓ Sometimes the right answer is simplifying navigation.
✓ Sometimes it’s making information easier to find.
✓ Sometimes it’s adding online scheduling or connecting systems behind the scenes.
✓ Sometimes it’s removing features instead of adding them.
✓ And sometimes it’s building something custom because it simply fits the personality of the business.
That was the case here.
The goal wasn’t to add a feature just because we could. The goal was to create something that felt like Drink Lab.
Visitors answer eight quick questions before being matched with one of New Orleans’ iconic cocktails, hopefully leaving with a smile before they’ve even walked through the front door.
That’s the kind of detail that helps a website feel a little less like a brochure and a little more like an extension of the business itself.
Not Everything Fits Inside a Template
There’s nothing wrong with using proven website layouts or WordPress themes. They’re often exactly the right choice.
But every now and then, a business needs something they weren’t originally built to do.
Maybe it’s an interactive quiz. Maybe it’s a custom calculator. Maybe it’s a searchable directory, an interactive map, an event finder, or a tool that solves a problem unique to that business.
The point isn’t adding features for the sake of adding features. It’s figuring out what makes sense for the people who will actually use the site.
Sometimes that’s surprisingly simple. Sometimes it’s a little more custom. Either way, it should always feel like it belongs.
Give It a Try
If you’re planning a visit to New Orleans, or you’re local and somehow haven’t made it to Drink Lab yet, it’s well worth adding to your list. The classes are genuinely fun, the people are fantastic, and you’ll probably leave knowing a little more about cocktails than you did when you walked in.
Before you book, see which cocktail matches your personality.
Then book a class and see if the quiz got it right.
What Could Your Website Do?
Not every website needs a personality quiz. But every website should give people a reason to stick around.
If you’ve been thinking about adding something unique to your site or you’re wondering what’s possible, we’d love to help you figure out what fits your brand.
Every business has a story. Sometimes the best way to tell it is by letting people experience a little piece of it first.
