HEROfarm Helps The New Orleans Mission Give Area Homeless a New Look

In 2011, HEROfarm helped the New Orleans Mission launch one of the city’s largest-ever public assistance events, ’Make a Move’ for the homeless, at the Morial Convention Center. Although we weren’t able to organize a Make a Move event this year, we were able to convince the wonderful people at the Metairie-based Paul Mitchell Vanguard School of Cosmetology and Make a Move participants to do free haircuts. Big thanks to their team!

The ’rebirth’ day took place at the Missions facility on Tuesday, December 11th as part of its continuing commitment to reduce the number of homeless in the Crescent City and help them become productive members of society. The day aimed to provide the areas homeless with free haircuts, clean clothing, and a chance to connect with the Mission’s many outreach programs for getting back on their feet.
