One of the many transformations taking place at the New Orleans Rescue Mission…
James, from our “Sincerely Homeless” campaign, donated 13 inches of hair to Locks of Love during haircuts this past Tuesday at the Mission. Thanks to Vanguard College of Cosmetology, a Paul Mitchell Partner School- Metairie for being so incredible!
In 2011, HERO|farm helped the New Orleans Mission launch one of the city’s largest ever public assistance events, Make a Move for the homeless, at the Morial Convention Center, which the wonderful people at the Metairie-based Paul Mitchell Vanguard School of Cosmetology participated by giving free haircuts. Big thanks to their team! The “rebirth” day took place at the Mission’s facility as part of its continuing commitment to reduce the number of homeless in the Crescent City and help them become productive members of society. The day aimed to provide the area’s homeless with free haircuts, clean clothing and a chance to connect with the Mission’s many outreach programs for getting back on their feet.
